fuse8 - Most loved Christmas tunes

The festive tunes have been filling the fuse8 offices since December 1st, so we decided to ask everyone to nominate their favourite Christmas song of all time. And the winner is...

Fairtytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl

  1. Fairytale Of New York – The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl
  2. Last Christmas – Wham!
  3. All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey
  4. A Spaceman Came Travelling – Chris de Burgh
  5. The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) - Nat King Cole
  6. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day – Wizzard
  7. So Here It Is Merry Christmas – Slade
  8. Christmas In Hollis – Run DMC
  9. Melle Kalikimaka – Bing Crosby
  10. All I Want For Christmas is a Dukla Prague Away Kit – Half Man Half Biscuit

The Pogues’ well-loved ode to love and loss received the most nominations. Its soaring strings and poignant lyrics must really strike a chord with the fuse8 team. Or maybe it’s because it has rude words in it...

There are plenty of traditional favourites in the top ten – some upbeat, some more mellow – with some lesser known tunes in there too. Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ doesn’t make an appearance, but his lesser known Hawaiian Christmas tune, ‘Melle Kalikimaka’ is in at number 9. Thanks for that, Matt.

Joe was also on his own with ‘Christmas in Hollis’ by Run DMC, but undoubtedly the most obscure choice is from Group Creative Director Andy Hutchinson, with ‘All I Want for Christmas is a Dukla Prague Away Kit’, by Half Man Half Biscuit.

Never heard of it? We hadn’t either, so here it is:
